As principal of the studio, Mr. Benavente is responsible for the management of budgets and schedules; developing programming, design and construction document packages for architectural, planning, and commercial interiors projects. With clients throughout the greater Bay Area, his role requires frequent coordination with a wide range of building industry professionals and regional authorities.

On architectural projects over the last thirty years, Mr. Benavente has participated in schematic design and construction document efforts for theme parks, sports arenas, and industrial facilities in the United States; intelligent office buildings in Korea and Japan; and a multi-story hotel project in China. He has taken part in corporate and medical office, restaurant, retail, postal facility, church and daycare, as well as multi-family and custom home projects from schematic design through contract administration.

On commercial interiors projects, he specializes in thematic development based on corporate imagery; developing a vocabulary of forms and finishes to express corporate concepts. As tenant architect to numerous projects, he has a proven successful approach to fast-track interiors projects.

Mr. Benavente has a background in aviation planning which consists of a series of conceptual and schematic design efforts featuring projects at Chicago O'Hare, Dallas Fort Worth, San Francisco International, and Dubai International Airports.

With a working knowledge of a variety of computer programs, he was the architectural representative for a multi-disciplinary task force identifying opportunities for the implementation of computer-aided design capabilities in the building and construction industries. He has an extensive background in CAD system management, training and implementation.

Married with four children, Mr. Benavente is fluent in Spanish, in good health, and has been working in construction and design since 1975.
